Abaybek Talgatovich Zhunissov

Abaybek Talgatovich Zhunissov, born on March 8, 1974, in the Qyzylorda region, Syrdarya district of Kazakhstan, is a respected figure in the field of technical sciences, holding a Ph.D. in Engineering with a specialization in Geoecology. His academic journey is marked by a deep commitment to research and education, highlighted by his thesis defense in 2001, which earned him the title of Candidate of Technical Sciences.

Talgatovich’s educational background is diverse and comprehensive, including degrees in Hydromelioration from the Kyzylorda Institute of Engineers of Agro-industrial Production I.Zhakhaev (1995), Quality Management from the Academy of Standardization, Metrology, and Certification in Moscow (2004), and Economics from Kyzylorda State University named after Korkyt Ata (2009). His commitment to furthering his expertise is evident in the various certificates he has obtained over the years, ranging from Erasmus+ (Astana, 2015) to leadership in higher education management from George Washington University (USA, Washington, DC, 2023).

Throughout his career, Talgatovich has been recognized for his contributions to education and science, receiving numerous accolades such as Letters of Gratitude from the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2005, 2007, 2016, 2019), the Honorary sign “Excellent worker of mining science” (2017), and the Gold medal named after A. Baitursynov of the Association of Higher Education Institutions of RK (2020), among others.

Talgatovich’s work experience showcases his progression from an Assistant at the Department of “Hydroecology, Hydraulic, and Meliorative Construction” of Kyzylorda Polytechnic Institute (1995-1997) to significant leadership roles, including Vice-rector and Rector positions at various educational institutions. His most recent appointment as the First Vice Rector of Kyzylorda Open University since September 5, 2023, underscores his continued influence in the academic community.
